Adam’s featured as a solo artist
playing an electrified acoustic guitar and singing all his own
compositions. Adam’s vocals and
guitar interact on every tune. Let’s be honest here, I don’t
understand his native East African language for he was born
in Kenya and now lives in Toronto but still found the
music very appealing. I should also tell you that many of the lyrics
are in English. The opening track “Muche
Njira Jirani (The Girl Who Lives Down My Street)” is the Blues. His stunning guitar
style is showcased in the two instrumentals “In The Nubians
Pyramid” and “Penzi Ra Hamu (A Storm of Love)”. Some
‘your driving me crazy’ Blues is felt again on “Dzigwirwa na
Penziro (I’m Falling For Your Love)”. “Nipa Busa (Baby
Give Me A Kiss” has soulful roots. It’s back to the Blues on the
slow song “Chila Siku (Everyday)” with Adam playing those
jazzy Blues and giving out one of his best vocals. The CD has many
other fine pieces of Adam’s music so please pick up his new indie
CD, as they are available at Sam’s in the Yonge & Dundas
store. Adam is quite a talent and if you ever get a chance to see
him perform I know you will love his music and Adam Solomon,
the man too. Eddy B
